Analytics
Understand response trends, conversion funnels, field drop-off, traffic sources, countries, and completion time in formbuild.io.
Open a form and select Analytics to see both response activity and visitor behavior. These two sections intentionally measure different scopes.
Response overview
The overview counts stored responses from every source:
- Your hosted form link
- Embedded formbuild.io forms
- HTML forms on your own site
- JavaScript and API submissions
It includes total responses, recent 7-day and 30-day comparisons, daily response volume, hourly patterns, and CSV export.
Hosted form-link analytics
Visitor and field-level tracking requires the form page hosted by formbuild.io. It cannot observe someone filling a plain HTML form on another website, so these numbers may be lower than the response overview.
The hosted analytics sections include:
- Conversion funnel — views, starts, submission attempts, and successful completions.
- Unique / Total toggle — distinct visitors versus total visits or events.
- Drop-off by field — how far visitors progressed and where they left.
- Completion and abandonment — conversion rate, abandoned starts, median completion time, and p90 completion time.
- Traffic sources — direct, search, social, referring, and UTM traffic, plus referring origins.
- Countries — visitor geography when the deployment provides country headers.
- Time and friction — time to first interaction and the field associated with the most abandonment.
Filters
Use the controls above hosted analytics to change the date range and filter by response outcome, source bucket, or country. Country values can be unknown in local development or deployments that do not provide an edge-country header.
How stages are counted
- View — the hosted form page loaded.
- Start — the visitor focused a form field.
- Submit — the browser sent a submission attempt, including attempts that later failed validation.
- Completion — the submission was accepted and stored successfully.
This distinction helps identify validation failures separately from visitors who never tried to submit.
Privacy and retention
Hosted analytics uses a first-party visitor identifier. Analytics events are retained for 30 days and are not intended to contain submitted field values. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for consent and data-processing details.
